Gastown Wedding at The Diamond
We love that David and Wendy’s chose The Diamond in Gastown as their wedding venue. Why not create more happy memories in your favourite bar? Some of you may have sipped on this hidden gem’s cocktails, or watched Gastown buzz from their windows. But, what you might not know is that you can hire out their space as a wedding venue. Without a doubt, it is one of the most quirky, alternative wedding venues in Vancouver.
Located in one of Gastown’s oldest buildings, The Diamond is full of old-world charm and European ornamentation. The space is reminiscent of a “cabinet of curiosities” or “wonder room”, complete with a taxidermy deer wearing leather boxing gloves mounted above the bar. We also love the exposed brick walls, offbeat flower mural and vintage wallpaper.
David’s favourite moments was watching Wendy walk down the aisle, and then proceed to pull her vows from a pocket in her wedding dress. Wendy’s gorgeous Truvelle gown matched her fun personality perfectly.
After the ceremony, the wedding guests headed into Gastown for Happy Hour. During this time, The Diamond staff flipped the ceremony setup into a cocktail lounge for the reception and dancing. At the same time, we wandered around the picturesque Victorian neighbourhood for David and Wendy’s couple session. We then made our way to the waterfront for last light, before heading back to The Diamond for one unforgettable party.
Unquestionably, any couple who begins their relationship successfully (and happily) building iKea furniture together has something good going on. David and Wendy, we wish you the best on your new adventure, knowing that just as your lives expand together, so too will your love.
I’m with you, Vance Joy
