Wedding at The John MS Lecky UBC Boathouse
Can you believe that UBC Boathouse is a fully floating wedding venue? Its prime location makes way for spectacular views over Vancouver’s historic Fraser River, stretching towards BC’s North Shore Mountains. (Yip, a Vancouver wedding venue with river and mountain views!) This modern space was designed with floor to ceiling glass walls, allowing natural light to flood into the reception hall. And, on the flip side, it gives wedding guests the opportunity to take in the breathtaking views and sunset.
D & L’s UBC Boathouse Wedding
There was a break in Vancouver’s rainy weather just in time for Devon and Lisa’s wedding day. They held their outdoor ceremony on John M.S. Lecky’s spacious dock. Rows of chairs were set out in a semi-circle surrounding a flower arch. This layout created a beautiful and intimate feeling at their ceremony. Celebrations continued outdoors with cocktail hour overlooking the river, building up to one fun party!
These two beautiful, talented and extremely funny humans work in film. So, we were pretty much entertained by them and their guests the entire day! Listening to their speeches was like being at an improv comedy night, with a good dose of emotion in the mix. Plus, being on the dance floor felt a bit like watching the making of a music video. (We were kind of happy hiding behind our cameras. I mean who can compete with those moves?)
Post-wedding Couple Portrait Session
We photographed Lisa and Devon’s couple portrait session at Lighthouse Park. On their wedding day, D & L wanted to max out on the time they spent with their guests. And so, they opted for a post-wedding photo session with us a couple of days after their celebration.
Post-wedding photo sessions are always pretty adventurous. They allow time to venture into remote landscapes. And, no one is too worried about sticking to a timeline or getting their outfit dirty. Be sure to scroll to the bottom for a selection of these frames. Enjoy!
