Villa Maison Noir Wedding in Hout Bay
Villa Maison Noir presented the perfect hideaway for Patrick and Caroline’s intimate destination wedding. This luxurious home is nestled into the mountains surrounding Cape Town’s Hout Bay. Architect, Paolo Deliperi, designed the spacious home with an eye to compliment the exterior surroundings. In essence, he incorporated natural light, water and open-air spaces, creating a sense of seamless indoor-outdoor living. Can you imagine a better place to get festive with your closest friends and family?
Caroline shares about their intimate Cape Town Wedding
We are Americans who currently live in Ethiopia. But, we didn’t want to get married in either country so decided to have a destination wedding. We chose South Africa because of its natural beauty. We found our wedding venue online, and before seeing it, decided to take the plunge and book it. The risk paid off! We were elated, Maison Noir is even more beautiful than the photos!
Happinest Weddings and Bouwer Flowers teamed up to create an elegant leaf-lined table, laden with classic blooms, stone candle holders, rust coloured glass and lilac-grey napkins. The team also hung an incredible flower and leaf installation above the thirty-seater. It was without a doubt one of the most beautiful tables we have witnessed!
Slippery Spoon pulled out all the stops designing a seven course menu for the couple. The two day fermented petit pampoenkoekie doughnut was one of our favourite courses. This culinary delight came swimming in a tomato broth and was topped with a beurre noisettes frosting and lobster bacon, brushed with home-smoked maple syrup and dehydrated thyme confetti. Sounds like a mouthful, tastes like one too!
To make things even better, the meal was paired with some of South Africa’s most delicious and experimental wines. Being wine lovers ourselves we were very excited to see Testalonga’s ‘Baby Bandito Keep On Punching’ in the lineup.
In summary, Caroline and Patrick’s intimate Cape Town wedding was lavish yet simple. It was heartwarming yet fun. This was a celebration of love, of tight-knit community, food, wine and design. All the elements that make life beautiful!
“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going to fast. You also miss the sense of where you are going and why.” – Eddie Cantor
