Dulini Lodge Elopement in the Sabi Sands

Nate and Christine are extreme adventurers and their Sabi Sands wedding was their greatest adventure yet. If they aren’t at their home-base of Chicago, you’ll find them hiking through Yosemite, wading through rivers in The Narrows, or rock climbing in Moab. For them eloping in the wild remoteness of Africa was a dream come true. Dulini River Lodge, is nestled in the privacy of the Sabi Sands, overlooking the idyllic Sand River and the savannah beyond. The lodge’s exclusivity and isolated location added to the romance and magic of their day.

The day before their wedding, Nate and Christine discovered an incredible site where twin trees had merged into one. They decided this was a perfect, and symbolic, spot to say “I do”. (Even though a herd of elephants had made it their stomping ground the day before!) Their ceremony was deeply personal and humorous. An emotional mix of excitement, tears and laughter. One of our favourite images is of Nate wiping a teardrop from Christine’s eye as she says her vows.

While we went on a photo safari around the reserve, Dulini set up the most romantic, private wedding table in the middle of the bush for Nate and Christine. Seeing the lanterns lit up in the trees as we drove towards their secret dining location truly took our breath away. While the rangers stood guard on the outskirts, Dulini’s head chef cooked the newlyweds a delectable three-course meal on an open fire. They dined to the sounds of owls, hippos, lions and hyenas calling in the background.

Nate and Christine, may your marriage be made up of wild adventures together!
