Wedding at the Stone Cellar in Heidelberg
Greg and Simone held their wedding at The Stone Cellar, nestled in the Heidelberg farmlands. This ideal country wedding venue is only a 45 minute drive from Johannesburg.
The Stone Cellar’s owners cleverly converted an old milking parlour into a country-style chapel, complete with handmade wooden benches and crystal chandeliers. Their reception venue was built on the foundations of the old farm house. The space was a perfect match for Greg and Simone’s rustic / modern wedding.
We still wanted our wedding to be formal enough to capture the sense of occasion but relaxed enough for our guests to have a party, so we had lots of eucalyptus and all decor items were in rose gold and copper. Most our the decor items were also geometric shapes. This look really suited the character of our venue. – Simone
One of our favourite moments during the day, of which there were many, was when Greg finished his speech, took Simone’s hand and led her out for a surprise dance. Suddenly all the guys gathered around them and began dancing and singing along to “I’m Gonna Be”. Needless to say, it was a very emotional moment. (Scroll down for the full sequence.)
I had heard the song a few years ago and said if we ever got married I would want this song to be a part of our wedding, and he remembered after all that time… I don’t have enough words to explain how amazing and romantic this moment was, it was the best moment of my life! – Simone
It was such a privilege to witness and “freeze” the meaningful and true interactions this beautiful couple shared with family and friends, and most importantly with each other.
