James and Katie held their wedding weekend in the Lake District in the UK and magically managed to pull together a mix of tradition, glamping and disco.

The ceremony took place at the magnificent Ashton Memorial in Lancaster and the reception was held at James’ parents’ farm: Lowbrook Barn.

“Thank you for the most AMAZING shots and for capturing everyone and everything so perfectly!”

It was extra special to be the wedding photographers for James and Katie’s disco glamping wedding – because the bride is family (Kris’ cousin). And, come to think of it, the groom is now family too! Cont’d after gallery.

Katie’s dress was designed by Jesus Piero with dreamy sleeves by Charlie Brear, and she chose to get dressed and ready at the lovely Midland Hotel – an iconic, historical building positioned on the Morecambe Bay seafront and known for its curved façade and other Art Deco features.

The ceremony took place at the magnificent Ashton Memorial in Lancaster and, being a military man, James looked truly regal in his military uniform. It was such a beautiful moment to witness the couple pass through a guard of honor after the wedding ceremony, walking beneath the arch of swords with huge smiles as they exited the Memorial building.

Next was the reception, which was held at James’ parents’ farm: Lowbrook Barn. Long wooden tables were set in a large barn that had been transformed with white draping, romantic fairy lights and – essential for any disco wedding – a big disco ball. We loved the fact that James and Katie had a “Great Wedding Cake Bake Off”, with at least eight unique bakes made by friends, instead of a traditional wedding cake.

And this was just part one, because the overnight wedding continued with glamping and a disco wedding celebration on day two! If you ever needed inspiration for a glamping wedding… look no further. With white bell tents pitched on the rolling green lawns of the farm, everyone slept off the night’s festivities and emerged the next day dressed for part two: a 70s disco wedding party (think: bell bottoms, flower power and glitter galore)!
