There’s something about a winter wedding in Vancouver that feels especially cinematic - the city lit up for the holidays, crisp blue skies reflecting off glass towers, and historic venues glowing with warmth inside. Marcus & Con’s wedding at The Vancouver Club captured all of it perfectly.
A Vancouver Club Wedding in the Heart of Downtown Vancouver
Tucked into that quiet week between Christmas and New Year’s, Marcus and Con’s wedding day arrived with unexpectedly perfect winter weather. Clear skies, soft winter light, and a festive downtown atmosphere made the city feel alive in the best possible way. Cont’d after gallery.
A downtown heritage vancouver wedding venue
The Vancouver Club was the ideal setting for the day - timeless architecture, old-world interiors, and a sense of intimacy that contrasted beautifully with the energy of downtown Vancouver just outside its doors. As Vancouver wedding photographers, we’re always drawn to venues that feel layered and atmospheric, and The Vancouver Club delivers that effortlessly. Rich textures, historic detailing, warm lighting, and classic design create endless opportunities for natural, documentary-style wedding photography.
Marcus and Con chose to keep the day focused on what mattered most: good friends, meaningful moments, and one unforgettable celebration. The entire wedding felt relaxed and intentional from start to finish. Elegant without feeling overly formal. Refined, but still full of personality.
One of the most memorable parts of the day was easily their dog, Henry, who completely stole the show. During their first look, Henry was so excited to see Con that Marcus nearly lost his footing trying to hold onto him. Then somehow, moments later, he transformed into the calmest ceremony guest imaginable. Quiet the entire ceremony - until Marcus and Con shared their first kiss, when Henry joined the celebration with one perfectly timed bark that had everyone laughing.
These are always the moments we love most to photograph: the unscripted reactions, the movement, the unexpected energy that makes a wedding day feel personal.
The winter light throughout the day was also incredible. Downtown Vancouver can often feel moody and overcast in December, but this wedding was filled with bright natural light that reflected beautifully through the city streets and inside the club’s historic interiors. Combined with the holiday atmosphere throughout Vancouver, it created such a strong sense of season without ever feeling overly themed.
From the emotional ceremony to the packed dance floor later in the evening, Marcus & Con’s wedding was a reminder that winter weddings in Vancouver can feel every bit as vibrant as summer celebrations. Intimate, atmospheric, and full of character.
