Wedding at Hartford House
Dean and Chantelle held their intimate wedding at Hartford House – a country hotel and wedding venue, established on Summerhill Stud in the Natal Midlands. Hartford was the perfect location to gather their families together from around the globe. They spent the weekend fly fishing, riding horses and enjoying Hartford’s award-winning cuisine. Of course the highlight of their getaway was their wedding celebration. The very same day that snow decided to spontaneously descend on the surrounding Drakensberg Mountains!
Although it rained for most of the day, Dean and Chantelle were such troopers. They embraced the weather, getting tangled up in each other and Chantelle’s mohair shawl during their couple shoot. Plus, you can’t go too wrong with roaring fires, red wine and a seven course wedding feast with your nearest and dearest.
A single long table was lavishly set on a covered balcony with pastel blooms and candles running down its centre. (It’s pretty cool when all your guests have a seat at the head table.)
Being foodies, Dean and Chantelle commissioned Hartford’s chef to dream up the most extravagant fine-dining experience he could think of for their wedding dinner. The hotel outdid themselves, pairing exquisite South Africa wines with each course, one of which was marshmallows filled with liquid nitrogen!
We loved sharing in and capturing Dean and Chantelle’s beautiful love and connection. Witnessing them interact with each other and their families around the dinner table warmed our hearts.
