Modern Vancouver City Wedding at Brix and Mortar

Celestina says that Ben’s proposal was “perfectly imperfect”, but there was certainly nothing imperfect about this couple’s incredible Vancouver city wedding at Brix and Mortar! Ben (you might recognise him if you’re a Cavalry FC supporter…) met Celestina when he transferred to her school in 12th grade. The two went to senior prom together and – eight years later – they’ve never looked back.

One of our favourite parts of this modern city wedding was the first look between the bride and groom, a moment filled with so much emotion and tenderness. “It wasn’t something we were originally going to do,” Celestina said, “but because of timing, it made the most sense. We felt like we were on another planet, just the two of us. Once we saw each other, any butterflies we had went away and we were just so excited to share the day with our friends and family.”

Brix and Mortar turned out to be such a great choice for this elegant and intimate Vancouver wedding. The bride’s elegant dress – from the Laudae collection at Lovenote Bride in Gastown – looked incredible against the backdrop of natural stone, glowing fairy lights and plenty of ivy. Along with the smart black suits worn by Ben and his groomsmen, and the champagne gold dresses of the bridesmaids, Celestina’s all-white wedding bouquet (created by Vancouver florist Celsia Floral) brought the look together perfectly.

Looking back at their wedding day, we realise just how ideal Brix and Mortar is for a city wedding in Vancouver. Within a walkable distance from the venue, there are numerous wedding photo shoot locations on the streets nearby. We love the contrast of Ben and Celestina’s modern and romantic attire, set against Vancouver’s old and new cityscapes.
